The Travails of Glitzville
A downloadable game
WHERE THE HECK IS GLITZVILLE?
A shimmerin’ range of sandstone divides Allhallow’s Canyon from the Scree Knives. Every year, dozens of enterprising frontiersmen, stubborn homesteaders, and desperate fugitives cross over this Iron-rich ridge, seeking opportunity at the end of the known world. The unlucky find their route through Glitzville, a miserable mountainside shanty town built for the indentured labor force at a nearby Incorporation mine. The water here runs all the shades of rust. As it works its way down the mountainside ravines and seasonal cricks, it gets filtered potable for the soft-hand types along the river. The people of Glitzville don’t clean up quite as easy.
WHAT’S COOKIN’? (Hooks)
Glitzville has been having “connectivity issues,” and they’ve been deaf and dumb to telegraphs connecting them with Incorporation supply lines. In case of an outage, their service window is supposed to be 2 weeks. It’s been 2d4.
Provisions are running thin, and mischievous little critters in the mine (called “Knackers”) are stealing everything that isn’t nailed down.
To make matters worse, the foreman met an untimely end without telling anyone where he stashed all the silver he’d set aside for injured workers. His coffee-stained last will and testament reads: “To Briann, I entrust the disability fund. Y’all’ll find ‘er outside the house, in the flow under the crescent moon.” If anyone could make sense of the foreman’s cryptic testament, it’d be his orphaned son Briann. Too bad he went missing during his last dig.
